This guy only managed to make the Space Monkey Corps on his third attempt. This Monkey isn't a dodgy request as most are, but made it through the rigorous entrance exam with sheer condescension. To make my general stance clear before we delve in, I have no objection to people disagreeing with me on my interpretations of ships. I take more liberties with doing them than some people think I should. I can actually hear Frank's wails of disbelief every time I correct a plan. I don't like, however, being told I got it wrong as if there were some kind of absolute 'truth' and I don't appreciate being patronised. For the record this (2007) marks my twenty first year doing Star Wars related technical illustrations. I have every meaningful source material that exists. I spend hour after hour trawling through obscure publications and ghastly novels digging out salient bits of data, not, as some like SeSeHeart seem to think, chuck it together in a few minutes after playing X-Wing Alliance. Lastly when there are big differences between my versions and the 'classic' versions I acknowledge that in text on the page in question, and so get a little ticked off when I have to explain it a second time because some twerp forgot to read the entry. |
Your website is AWESOME!!!! I never thought I would ever find a website with decent deck plans. I would love to see many new ships, the larger ones or fighters. I have many ideas for custom-made star fighters and would jump at the chance to learn how to make them. If you can I would love to know what program you use to make these ships. |
Thank you, Glad you enjoy it. The software I use is MS Paint. |
Thank you so much!! Never thought you would reply so quickly. Just wondering, about how long does each piece take to build? If I make a few I'll send you some, or try opening my own site. |
Days. Many hours. Feel free to send them along. Please don't cut and paste my ones, though, including things like chairs etc. Much better to build your own set. Good luck with it. |
What do you mean cut and paste yours? Can I model mine off of what you did? The chairs for example can I do those the same as long as I don't cut and paste? Also I would like to know on average how long a single ship will take? Do you think star fighters are easier to start out with? |

and days depending on complexity. Much longer for a capital ship than a
courier, much longer for a courier than a fighter. It is relative mainly to > Do you think star fighters are easier to start out with? |
Okay thank you for being so patient with me and answering all my questions. I will begin but start mostly on star fighters. I have books that describe totally different Z 95 Headhunters. The description I have, actually a detailed picture, shows a smaller version of the X-Wing minus the 2 extra wings. As for V-Wings you asked for information. The V-Wing you have appears in the Old Republic's fleets in use by clones and the ship you show is correct. However the Rebels also have a ship called V-Wing. The only similarities are the name. I will begin working on this Rebel form of V-Wing and send you one. Afterwards I will send my version of the Headhunter. I hope you are not taking this the wrong way. your ships are fine I just believe some of them are not the way they should be. Please consider my versions and if you wish may adjust them anyway you want so long as they retain their original ideas. As you know these will be my first drawing so they will probably not be very good. |
> have books that describe totally different Z 95 Headhunters. That was a MISTAKE. I feel no need to compound that error. > As for V-Wings you asked for information. > I will begin working on this Rebel form of V-Wing and send you one. You seem to be under the impression that I don't know these things. I have
an extensive library. I have been doing this work for two DECADES. I'm
really not in any need to be patronised on the subject, especially by
someone who has neither done any research nor even, evidently, read the
relevant page on my site before deciding I've screwed it up. > I hope you are not taking this the wrong way. > your ships are fine I just believe some of them are not the way they should be. > Please consider my versions and if you wish may adjust them anyway you want so long as they retain their original ideas. > As you know these will be my first drawing so they will probably not be very good. Congratulations, by the way, you've managed to make the Space Monkey list. |
